Rewi Alley Academy English classes for new migrants have been making very good progress. We now have three classes from Elementary to Intermediate level. Our students numbers have increased steadily and now number over forty students. The programmes have been designed to help new migrants settle into life in New Zealand. They have been very well received by the students.

 

We have also initiated a range of activities to introduce new migrants to life in New Zealand. Our students have visited a marae and been on a tour of the historical areas of Christchurch. They have been able to meet the people and understand the New Zealand culture. We hope to arrange many more activity programmes for our students. In this way, students have a comprehensive introduction to New Zealand life and culture at the same time as they are learning the language.
