Clothing, Climate and Food

New Zealand weather is very changeable. You can experience all four seasons in one day. Winters can be cold but may be very sunny for short periods. Summers are hot and dry. But conditions can change rapidly. You need to be prepared for changing weather and carry a jersey at all times. It is a good idea to always carry a light rainproof jacket in your back pack. Bring plenty of warm clothes with you, a hat, and gloves for the cold days. You will also need shorts, light shirts and light weight jumpers for the summer.
