Accommodation

The Academy will find suitable home-stay accommodation and will give ongoing support where  necessary. We strongly recommend home-stay accommodation for all students under 18 years of age. Home-stay accommodation includes all meals and has the added recommendation of providing the student with a homely atmosphere in an environment where students can experience the kiwi lifestyle. Alternative accommodation is available but must be arranged by the student. Flats may seem cheaper, but the student must do all his/her own shopping, cleaning and cooking, and be responsible for power and telephone bills. Most flats require you to pay a bond which is refundable when you leave the flat in good condition. The best places to start looking for flats or flatmates are the Saturday edition of the Christchurch Press newspaper or the Trade Me website. Hostels provide a room and shared kitchen facilities.
